"Spread the wealth around"
Between gambling your money on the bailout and redistributing it, the Democrats certainly have big plans for your tax dollars, don't they?
My position on taxes is simply that Washington should take less. John Hall, the happy earmarker, thinks you want higher taxes, but unlike Hall and the rest of the Washington elites, I know what it means to be part of America's Middle Class. That's why I support tax cuts, not the Pelosi-Hall-Rangel tax hikes or the Obama plan to redistribute your hard earned money.

John Hall on Bailout: It's a 'bet'
Hall obviously immediately wished he had those words back, because that's exactly why taxpayers were right to oppose the bailout in the first place.
Check out the linked video at about 23:08. This is an astonishing admission of the ease with which Washington parts with your hard-earned money.
I explain my opposition to the Bush bailout here, in a Poughkeepsie Journal editorial.

Marine Corps Times: VFW Rebukes Hall
VFW endorsement skips vet subcommittee chief
Posted : Thursday Oct 9, 2008 5:57:30 EDT
The political action committee for Veterans of Foreign Wars has endorsed 212 political candidates running for seats in the House and Senate in November, a fairly politically balanced group of 101 Republicans and 116 Democrats.
But the list is not without controversy: The PAC has endorsed the Republican challenger to Rep. John Hall, a New York Democrat who happens to be chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs subcommittee on disability assistance.
Hall has worked on legislation to cut the processing time for veterans’ benefits claims and to increase accuracy of claims but has disappointed some veterans by eliminating an advisory council on veterans issues.
Hall, whose congressional district includes parts of Dutchess, Orange, Rockland and Westchester counties, was the chief House sponsor of the Veterans Benefits Modernization Act, which orders the use of technology to process veterans’ disability claims. He is one of 150 lawmakers who received an A+ grade on a congressional report card issued Tuesday by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.
Instead of endorsing Hall, the VFW PAC backed former Marine Reserve Cpl. Kiernan Lalor, who deployed to Iraq in 2003 and who also volunteered for reserve duties in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

More on the bailout
"More Government cannot be the answer to a government-created problem. The fact is that short-sighted government policies distorted the market in the first place. Bankers were certainly to blame for responding to these signals from government in the hope of a quick buck, but at its base, much of the problem was caused by government."
Ronald Reagan had it right.
